welding stainless to carbon steel
Jul 24, 2007 · I need to weld stainless to carbon steel. I believe the stainless is 304 and the carbon steel is A36. The stainless was a solid piece of 4" round that was drilled out 2-1/2" and threaded, leaving approx 3/4" side wall. The piece of A36 is 1/2" thick plate with a 2-1/2" hole to line up with the stainless.Which is the best welding method for A36 steel?A36 is the standard specification for structural steel. Very high volume grade. Wide chemistry range, but requires a 36 ksi minimum yield strength. The cheapest and easiest methods can be used: shielded metal arc welding (SMAW, or stick welding), gas metal arc welding (GMAW, or MIG welding), and oxyacetylene welding.See all results for this questionWhich is the best supplier of ASTM A36 plates?ASTM A36 Carbon and Low Alloy Steel Plates, ASME SA36 HR Plates, ASME SA36 Structural Low Carbon Plate Dealer, ASTM A36 MS Plates, ASME SA36 Carbon Structural Steel Plate, ASME SA36 Carbon Steel Plates Exporter, ASME SA36 Plates Supplier in India. What's the difference between A36 and A514 steel?
A36 is a low-carbon steel that offers good strength and formability. A514 is a high-strength steel, typically offering a yield strength of 100,000 PSI, depending on the grade. A guideline for joining two steels of different strengths is to choose a filler metal based on the strength of the lower-strength material.See all results for this questionWhat are the properties of ASTM A36 carbon steel?ASTM A36 CARBON STEEL PLATE are having various properties that are there as per the inherited alloy in the manufactured plates. Just plain carbon steel What is it?
For A36/SA36 material, the tensile and yield strength are moderate. The yield is approximately 36,000 PSI, and the tensile strength varies from 58,000 PSI to 80,000 PSI. Variations in tensile strength allow for the difference in carbon, manganese, and silicon content in different thickness. Also the production methodrolling, hot or cold, or extrudingcan affect tensile strength. Additional carbon and manganese produce a higher strength but lower ductility.
